MIA Garage Sale activity up to now

As previous activity of Garage Sale, we offered many kinds of household items to TIT foreign students who moved to the private apartment from college dormitory.  From 1988 we held garage sale twice a year on a large scale. It was very enjoyable and good opportunity to deepen friendship between foreign students and MIA members.

 However, after it lasted for 20 years, number of guests, foreign students, reduced year after year, maybe because of appearance of recycle shops and 100-yen shops.
We change the" Garage Sale" to"Ｕｒｉkai (sell and buy)Salon",、charity bazaar of MIA members limited.in 2008.
Both sellers and buyers are MIA members and we also very enjoyed it.

 After 2011 great earthquake, "Urikai Salon" eventually changed the roleto support Tohoku area by donating money to Ashinaga Fund, children support foundation. We make and sell many necklaces by using used neckties. We donate to the fund the whole sale of "Urikai Salon" fair twice a year and we hope to continue this activity hereafter.

ガレージセールのこれまで

賑やかなガレージセール風景

ＭＩＡが発足して数年後から、リサイクル部として、東工大の留学生がアパートに引っ越す際
本箱や冷蔵庫、日用品などあらゆる家財道具を随時ていきょうしてきました。

1988年からは毎年春秋２回、ガレージセールも藤が丘駅前の駐車場で大々的に行うように
なりました。これは、必要なものを留学生が選ぶ、という楽しみもあり、ＭＩＡ会員との交流も
できるいい会でした。



しかし、２０年近く続いたガレージセールも少しずつ留学生のお客が減ってきました。
リサイクルショップや100円ショップができてきたのと期を同じくするようです。
お国の経済事情も変わり、留学生が余り物にこだわらなくなったことも一因と思われます。



2008年５月、これまでの方針を変え、会員のためのバザー、名付けて「うりかいサロン」が
始まりました。売る人も買う人もＭＩＡ会員。和気藹藹と楽しい会になりました。
そして2011年の大震災に心を痛め、当然のようにサロンは復興支援バザーとなりました。
売り上げに大きく貢献しているのは「復興ネックレス」。会員の有志がネクタイを利用して
作り続けているネックレスです。売り上げは全額あしなが基金に寄付。
この支援バザーは今後も続けたいと思っています。

うりかいサロンではオシャレもオシャベリもはずみます。
